Le Club season 2 to follow FC Versailles promotion push on Canal+ | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Canal+ will bring back Le Club for a second season, with filming already under way at FC Versailles.

The storyline is expected to track whether Versailles, currently fourth in National, can secure promotion to Ligue 2. The Yvelines club is led by president Alexandre Mulliez, noted for his LinkedIn presence.

Doubts had lingered over a renewal after a sequence from the first season, broadcast in September, went viral on social media. In that clip, sporting director Salomon Kashala bluntly outlined how unwanted players are marginalised, stressing they are made aware they have no future at the club and removed from selection, citing past examples at Dunkerque.

The UNFP, the players’ union, publicly condemned that practice.

Whether season 2 maintains the same level of transparency remains to be seen. Two years ago, Mulliez wrote on LinkedIn that he viewed Versailles as an entertainment company rather than a football club.
