Having clinched promotion and the Ligue 2 title on a chaotic final day, Le Havre are now gearing up for their first season in the top flight since 2009.
This summer, the Normans will be looking to bring in some experienced Ligue 1 players to help them avoid a swift relegation – according to L’Équipe, one of those targets is former Toulouse captain Brecht Dejaegere, who left the cup winners at the end of his contract this month.
The Belgian is keen on staying in Ligue 1, but it remains to be seen whether Le Havre will be able to put the necessary finances on the table given his €60k/week salary at Toulouse. Bordeaux, who narrowly missed out on promotion, are also interested.
Le Havre’s sporting director Mathieu Bodmer is also looking to sign former French international and World Cup winner Djibril Sidibé, who is currently at AEK Athens. The two have been in contact and have had positive discussions to begin with, although the former Monaco man will need some convincing to leave a potential run in the Champions League with the Greek outfit.
