Le Havre have had DNCG restrictions lifted and are preparing a new era, with Demba Ba to become director of football and Didier Digard expected to stay. The club is moving to strengthen structures and clarify its plan.

According to L'Équipe, Wednesday brought clarity for supporters left uncertain since Mathieu Bodmer departed on 17 May. The end of financial constraints was followed by details on ownership intent and the sporting structure.

Blue Crow signalled on 2 June that it would invest more, providing financial guarantees for infrastructure and some squad moves. The sale of Leganés would allow Blue Crow to concentrate on HAC.

Chairman Jean-Michel Roussier has extended his contract and begun a wide reorganisation, targeting experienced, development-minded staff. Talks with Ba began in mid-May, and the 41-year-old impressed at Dunkerque by building an ambitious platform that reached the 2024-2025 promotion play-offs.

Ba sought a medium-term vision and obtained guarantees on infrastructure and resources. He will arrive with recruitment specialist Romain Decool and former Paris FC executive Quentin Rauzier.

The trio will underpin a model built on the academy and the development of young talent, possibly with an accelerated phase in the months ahead. Roussier sought continuity too, making a new deal for Digard a priority.

Digard, 39, who drew interest from at least two French clubs in the past month, is expected to sign a two-year extension soon after weeks of reflection. Ba’s appointment, his long-standing relationship with the coach and talks with the shareholder have reassured him about a development-driven project. Beyond meeting rooms and the pitch, the performance department is also expected to be significantly reinforced.
