The Whites will face Sky Bet Championship opposition at Hillsborough who progressed through the first round after a penalty shootout victory over third tier Bolton Wanderers.

Last time out in the league, the Owls collected a first point of the new campaign after fighting back from two goals down to earn a draw at Wrexham, with long-standing club servant Barry Bannan on the scoresheet in North Wales.

In the previous campaign Leeds did the double over their Yorkshire rivals, beginning with a 2-0 victory in the Steel City as Brenden Aaronson and Dan James scored either side of the break.

The fixture may see debuts handed to summer recruits Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw as well as recent arrival Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Action from Hillsborough gets underway at 8pm.
