Kabongo Tshimanga came to Swindon Town’s rescue with a pair of late penalties last night in League Two, to earn the Robins a dramatic 2-1 win over promotion-chasing AFC Wimbledon.
This victory extended Swindon’s unbeaten run at home to 12 matches and ended a five-match streak without a win.
With those two penalties, Ian Holloway's men now rank top for most penalties scored in League Two, with seven goals converted from the spot.
Elsewhere, Max Clark’s penalty levelled the score for Gillingham in the Gills' 1-1 draw with Colchester United in Gareth Ainsworth’s first home game. The draw left The U's three points off the play-off spots with six games remaining - and also put them top of a rather unwelcome statistic
Danny Cowley's side have now conceded more goals from the penalty spot (6) than any team across the EFL, with only Brighton (7) in the Premier League having conceded more.
