Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes discussed the importance of Daniele De Rossi as the team’s head coach, and specifically for his recent growth.
Since De Rossi’s arrival, Paredes turned the season around and became one of Roma’s most reliable players.
In an interview with Sky Sport, Paredes discussed his rapport with the ex-Giallorossi teammate turned manager.
“My admiration for him was there since day one, when I first got here from Argentina. To see what he meant for the team and the city, his personality, his playing style… he was a model to follow. He’s my idol.”
“I had him as a teammate and now as a coach, I learned a lot from him and it’s a great honor for me to continue to work with him,” said Paredes.
“Since he arrived in January he has brought enthusiasm and a desire to get out of that bad moment we were in. His style of play made us grow and brought results. He made us play much much better. We are happy and hope to continue improving with him.”
“Bayer? We are aware that they are very strong, they are proving it, they haven’t lost yet. We are aware, but we only think about ourselves and playing our game.”
“Dybala and I want to win the Europa League. We know the importance of these matches. Winning in Rome is special, we want to try and we want to know what it means.”
