Boca Juniors captain Leandro Paredes is accelerating his recovery from a right ankle sprain, splitting rehab between the club and AFA, after being ruled out of the Racing clash. The issue dates back to December 2025, when a heavy challenge from Santiago Solari left him nursing the problem.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, he was ordered to rest in recent weeks to avoid aggravating the injury, and he posted an Instagram video carrying a message about trusting the process and working twice as hard to see results.

The clip shows ankle work at Boca’s training base and at the AFA complex in Ezeiza, as he aims to be in peak condition for Argentina’s Finalissima meeting with Spain on 27 March in Lusail, Qatar.

He is effectively on double duty, working with Boca’s medical staff and AFA kinesiologists at the Lionel Andrés Messi facility, alongside tailored drills designed to speed his return to the pitch.

The midfielder will miss the Copa Argentina round of 32 against Gimnasia de Chivilcoy on Tuesday, and could also sit out the tie with Gimnasia de Mendoza at La Bombonera.

His comeback could arrive on matchday 7 away to Lanús on Wednesday 4 March at 21:00, at the Estadio Néstor Díaz Pérez.
