Belgian considering ‘several options’ - including staying in north London
The 31-year-old Belgian played a prominent role as Arsenal won the Premier League last season, making 50 appearances across all competitions, but he may not return to help defend the title.
Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas quickly emerged as a likely destination, with reports suggesting they have pulled out all the stops to tempt Trossard to Istanbul.
Reports suggest the club sent a delegation to Belgium’s World Cup camp to hold talks over contract terms. Per Fabrizio Romano, the offer on the table constitutes a three-year deal with an option for a one-year extension.
Besiktas are now simply waiting on Trossard’s final decision, but his head has not yet been turned. Speaking in an interview with Sky Germany, Dirk Hebel, one of Trossard’s representatives, confirmed he is continuing to mull over his options for next season, making clear he could still remain at Arsenal.
“I can confirm that Besiktas did everything they could to sign Leandro Trossard,” he said. “However, no decision has been made yet.

“Leandro has all the offers on the table and will make his decision soon. He is a world-class player with several options, including staying at Arsenal.”
Further reporting in The Athletic adds Trossard is close to agreeing terms with Besiktas.
Arsenal’s left flank was something of a weak point last season, with neither Trossard nor Gabriel Martinelli quite producing the desired output. Mikel Arteta has also made clear he wants to bolster his attacking options in the summer transfer window.
Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis has been tipped as a potential reinforcement off the left, as has Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola. It is thought, though, that the Champions League winners would not be keen to sell to one of their primary continental rivals.
Trossard enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign, scoring two goals and assisting three as Belgium were knocked out in the round of 16.
