Recently appointed as Lebanon's head coach, Madjid Bougherra is thrown straight into the thick of the action with a crucial match coming up this March.

Topping Group B in the third round of qualifiers for the 2027 Asian Cup, Lebanon faces Yemen, its closest challenger trailing by just two points, in the sixth and final matchday.

For this showdown scheduled for March 31, the former Algeria A' coach needs at least a draw to clinch qualification for the 2027 Asian Cup, set to be hosted in Saudi Arabia next year.

This encounter will be a special one for Bougherra, as he faces off against another Algerian tactician: Noureddine Ould Ali, who has been in charge of Yemen since January 2024.

Lebanon is chasing its fourth Asian Cup appearance after 2000, 2019, and 2023, while Yemen is aiming for its second qualification after its 2019 debut.
