Tiago Gabriel: the new name on the rise – big clubs are watching, and Corvino confirms it.
In Lecce, they’re once again hunting for major capital gains, starting from one essential principle: the fee paid for a player must be minimal.
It’s a matter of skill in scouting and timing, allowing the club to make substantial profits later. Lecce have long mastered this approach, and the returns are guaranteed.

The latest example is Tiago Gabriel, a Portuguese centre-back signed last January from Estrela Amadora for a figure between €1 million and €1.5 million.
Now the 2004-born defender is on the radar of several top clubs, including some Italian, with discussions certain to continue in the coming transfer windows.
His valuation is rising, already well into double figures. Lecce’s plan is to resist in January, prioritising survival, before re-evaluating in the summer. But the transfer market never follows written rules.

Pantaleo Corvino, Lecce’s sporting director, speaking on Sportitalia last night, confirmed that the spotlight on Tiago Gabriel has been shining for some time.
