Ekstraklasa Champions Lech Poznań have been handed a tough tie to begin their Champions League campaign. The Kolejorz will face Azerbaijan’s Qarabag Agdam in the 1st Qualifying Round.
Lech will host the first match, on either the 5th or 6th of July, with the return to take place in Baku a week later. Both clubs will find out their potential 2nd round opponents on Wednesday. They will be seeded against one of five clubs: Skhupi (North Macedonia), Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), Slocan Bratislava (Slovakia), Dinamo Batumi (Georgia) or FC Zurich (Switzerland).
In the UEFA Europa Conference League, both Lechia Gdańsk and Pogoń Szczecin also found out their 1st Qualifying Round opponents on Wednesday.
Lechia will play against North Macedonia’s Akademika Pandev at home on the 7th July, and away on the 14th. The winner will meet one of seven clubs in the 2nd round: Young Boys (Switzerland), Flora Tallinn (Estonia), Seinajoki (Finland), Rapid Vienna (Austria), Osijek (Croatia), Olimpia Ljubljana (Slovenia) or Differdange (Luxembourg).
Meanwhile, Pogoń Szczecin were paired against Icelandic side KR Reykjavik, playing at home and away on the 7th and 14th respectively. The winner of that tie has six potential opponents in Wednesday’s 2nd Round draw: AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands), Molde (Norway), Motherwell (Scotland), Brondby (Denmark), DAC Dunajska Streda (Slovakia) or Cliftonville (Northern Ireland).
Despite starting in the 2nd qualifying round Raków Częstochowa will also be unseeded in Wednesday’s draw. They will face one of seven teams: Astana (Kazakhstan), Sparta Prague (Czech Rep.), KuPS Kuopio (Finland), Dila Gori (Georgia), Shkendija (North Macedonia), Ararat Yerevan (Armenia) or Vorskla Poltava (Ukraine).
