Lee Grant era starts with long Gillingham trip as Walsall’s 2026-27 fixtures released

Walsall’s League Two schedule for 2026-27 is out, and Lee Grant’s reign begins with the club’s longest journey, away to Gillingham on 15 August, a 328-mile round trip to Priestfield Stadium.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Saddlers’ first home game is against Grimsby Town on 22 August. They host Port Vale on 19 September, with the return at Vale Park on 17 April.
October brings seven fixtures, including away days at Fleetwood Town, Swindon Town and Colchester United. In November they host Barnet and Northampton Town, either side of a visit to newly promoted York City on 21 November.
Shrewsbury Town come to Bescot on 19 December, and Walsall head to Shropshire on 9 January. The Boxing Day assignment is at Bristol Rovers, followed by home dates with Chesterfield on 29 December and Cheltenham Town on New Year’s Day.
February features trips to Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Barnet, plus home matches against Crewe Alexandra and Exeter City. Over Easter they face Cheltenham Town away on Good Friday, then host Bristol Rovers on Easter Monday.
The run-in includes Gillingham at Bescot on 6 March, Grimsby Town away on 13 March and York City at home on 20 March. Walsall finish with back-to-back away games at Crawley Town on 27 April and Northampton Town on 1 May, before Newport County visit on the final day, 8 May.
