Walsall have been hit by a double midfield injury as Alex Pattison and Antony Evans face months out.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, head coach Lee Grant said both have hamstring injuries. Evans is not expected back until the end of the year, while Pattison is unlikely to return before January.

Pattison, 29, resumed training a fortnight ago after a pre-season problem but has suffered a setback. He has made 19 appearances in all competitions since joining from Bradford City in the winter window.

Evans was withdrawn in the first half of Saturday’s 2-0 win over local rivals Port Vale. The midfielder is on loan from Huddersfield Town.
