Leeds United have verbally agreed a deal to sell centre-back Pascal Struijk to Brighton this summer, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk. The 26-year-old is out of contract next year.

The fee is undisclosed, though it is understood to be around £20m. Struijk has made 196 appearances since arriving from Ajax in January 2018, initially with the under-21s.

It is believed Leeds offered fresh terms, but the defender wanted a new challenge, and the club risked losing him for free next summer. Brighton sold Jan Paul Van Hecke to Tottenham for £52m earlier this month, with Adam Webster also departing at the end of his contract.

Brighton also signed Georginio Rutter from Leeds in August 2024. An eighth-placed finish last season secured Europa Conference League qualification.

Leeds, preparing for their second season back in the Premier League, reached an agreement last week to sign Fulham attacker Harry Wilson as a free agent after his contract expired. The move is understood to be on track, with a medical and paperwork still to complete.

Leeds are also in the hunt for Germany international Julian Brandt, who is out of contract at Borussia Dortmund this summer. The club remain in negotiations for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles.
