Archive images capture Leeds in April 1996, from a salon milestone to city landmarks and Leeds United at Chelsea.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, West Row Salon owners Mark Westerman and Steve Rowbottom were celebrating 10 years in the Victoria Quarter. The month also saw postal workers pay respects to a former colleague and a popular novelist sign copies of her latest book.
At Stamford Bridge, Tomas Brolin tumbled after a two-footed challenge by Chelsea's Dennis Wise. The Whites lost the Premier League match 4-1.
Leeds City Station is shown with the Hilton Hotel and City House to the right. Another image offers a bird's eye view of the Royal Armouries.
In Allerton Bywater, a former coal storage site was being turned into a conservation area with ponds, trees and wildflowers. Frogs, toads and newts were being rehomed there.
