Leeds United have asked supporters to stay in their seats after today’s final home game against Brighton at Elland Road, with a post-match lap of appreciation planned.
The club said in a statement that fans should remain seated at full time as the first-team squad and staff thank them with a lap of the pitch.
After the whistle the players will head to the dressing room briefly, then be introduced back onto the pitch one by one, joined by their families, mirroring last season’s post-Bristol City celebrations.
Daniel Farke’s side face high-flying Brighton at 3pm in the Premier League’s Elland Road finale. Leeds’ top-flight status was confirmed when Arsenal won 1-0 at West Ham last Sunday, making safety mathematical with three games remaining.
Six days on from Monday night’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, the club will close out their home campaign by saluting supporters who have travelled up and down the country.
