Leeds United are monitoring Noah Okafor after reports in Neue Zürcher Zeitung that he picked up a knock in the warm-up on Friday. His involvement against Norway this evening is now in doubt.

The winger earned a first Switzerland call-up since November 2024, replacing injured compatriot Filip Ugrinić, after a strained spell with Murat Yakin. A solid Leeds debut season, four Premier League goals in 24 games, aided his return. He said his World Cup dream remains alive.

Switzerland hosted Germany on Friday and lost 4-3. Leeds midfielder Anton Stach played the final 10 minutes for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, while Okafor stayed on the bench, with the report adding he had been set to feature before the knock.

Okafor has only just returned from a hamstring issue that ruled him out of five league and cup matches for Leeds. Clarity is expected when the teams are named at 5pm. Leeds are not back in Premier League action for almost two weeks but face West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Gabriel Gudmundsson also sustained a knock during this break, the Sweden left-back going off in the second half of their World Cup play-off win over Ukraine, though he has since eased fears before tonight’s final against Poland. Wales are monitoring Daniel James after close to 90 minutes in their penalty defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina, the 28-year-old having missed the winter with a hamstring tendon injury suffered at Manchester City in November.
