Leeds United are exploring a late winter transfer window move for Ben Chilwell, per the Daily Mail.

The Whites are light in the left wing-back department after Gabriel Gudmundsson picked up an adductor injury that could sideline him for several weeks.

With the Yorkshire club pushing to maintain momentum in the Premier League, the lack of specialist cover has become a growing concern inside Elland Road.

Farke openly acknowledged the problem in his latest pre-match press conference, admitting the club is assessing the market for reinforcements.

Jack Harrison can provide cover there, but he recently joined Fiorentina on a loan deal that could be made permanent in the summer, leaving Leeds short of options.

Chilwell is currently on loan at Strasbourg, where he has rebuilt momentum following a difficult spell at Chelsea.

He has made 18 appearances in this season and has started each of Strasbourg’s last five matches in all competitions, suggesting fitness concerns are no longer a major issue.

Capped 21 times by England, the defender has made 107 appearances for Chelsea. He has won major honours, including the Champions League.

He previously featured 123 times for Leicester City during their rise to the Premier League. Chilwell’s appeal to Farke is obvious.

He would bring experience, leadership and top-flight know-how to a squad navigating the demands of a long, unforgiving season.

The full-back could be a shrewd short-term solution if Leeds can strike a deal in time.
