A Leeds family have turned a small Tenerife venture into a full-throated Leeds United hub that packs out on matchdays.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Bremners Bar, named for Billy Bremner, sits in Costa Adeje on the south coast and opened two years ago. It is run by Traci James and Kevin Ainsworth with their 18-year-old daughter, Kira.

What started with a handful of customers now draws as many as 194, with around 160 typical for each game. An archway roof amplifies the noise, Leeds shirts, flags and memorabilia fill the walls, and the match commentary is always on, a point of difference from other venues.

The focus is unequivocally Leeds, though rugby and other sports also feature. Supporters travel from Germany, Norway, Russia and beyond. Even in defeat the singing rarely fades, and in victory the noise can spill into the street.

It is a family operation, with all three behind the bar on busy days. Kira oversees social media, which has surged in the past two months. Many holidaymakers return every trip, turning the place into a community.

Standout days include last season’s comeback against Sunderland that sparked friendly rivalry with a neighbouring Sunderland pub. Other highlights include recent Premier League meetings with Chelsea, although promotion remains the most cherished memory.

With capacity now regularly reached, the aim is to keep standards high. Feedback highlights a brilliant atmosphere, a warm welcome and wallet friendly prices, helped by the island sunshine.
