Leeds United teenager Harry Gray has returned to Thorp Arch for hamstring treatment during his Rotherham United loan, but new manager Lee Clark is hopeful the forward will be available again after Saturday.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 17-year-old had been ever present for the Millers since his January move before missing the midweek heavy defeat to Peterborough United.

The following day Matt Hamshaw was sacked and swiftly replaced by Clark. Gray will miss the opening couple of weeks of the ex-Newcastle United man's reign as he receives care at his Premier League parent club.

Clark said it is common for young loanees to be treated by their own clubs and that Gray can benefit from Leeds' facilities, with Leeds close by. He added they are hopeful he will be ready for the next set of fixtures after Saturday.

The new boss described Gray as an exciting talent with strong pedigree and said he looks forward to his return alongside others after the weekend, noting injuries have blighted the campaign. He said he already knows his personnel for Saturday and hopes to have players back for the remaining eight games to help get the job done.

Rotherham visit league-leading Lincoln City on Saturday, managed by former Leeds coach Michael Skubala, then host Stevenage at New York Stadium. Gray's issue is thought to be relatively minor and should only sideline him for two to three weeks at most.
