Leeds United are monitoring Switzerland’s meeting with Norway this evening, with Noah Okafor a doubt after a reported training knock.
Neue Zürcher Zeitung reports that the winger was set to get minutes against Germany on Friday, only for a warm-up injury, described as a knock, to intervene. He has only just returned from a hamstring problem that cost him five Leeds matches.
Okafor’s first Switzerland call-up since November 2024 followed a decent start at Elland Road, where he has four Premier League goals in 24 appearances.
Switzerland lost 4-3 to Germany, and Okafor stayed on the bench despite the scope for wholesale changes in a friendly.
A decision on his involvement should be clear before the five pm kick-off when teams are announced. Leeds are not back in Premier League action for almost two weeks, but face West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Gabriel Gudmundsson also sustained a knock, going off during Sweden’s play-off win over Ukraine, though he eased fears before tonight’s final against Poland. Wales are closely managing Daniel James after he played nearly 90 minutes in their semi-final defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina on penalties.
