Leeds United have 11 days left in the window and Daniel Farke is open to strengthening outside centre forward, with left-sided cover under consideration if the perfect option emerges, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.
The club have enquired about Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen this month as they seek another target man to provide cover and competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Previewing Monday’s game at Everton, Farke said Gabriel Gudmundsson is a slight doubt with a groin issue and that he would also consider a signing in that position if the fit is ideal.
Jack Harrison has joined Fiorentina on loan at his request. He had been viewed as cover for Gudmundsson at wing-back, so his exit leaves Leeds short of left-footers in that area. Farke does not expect major changes, with Harry Gray departing for development and Facundo Buonanotte arriving.
Farke is unaware of others pushing to leave and said Harrison’s professionalism in training and in the FA Cup tie at Derby County underpinned the decision. He will listen to players who conduct themselves properly but cannot let many more go. Leeds will stay alert to a left-back or left wing-back solution, with James Justin and Sam Byram able to fill in despite not being natural left-footed options, and an attacking player such as Willy also used there in the FA Cup and late on against Fulham.
