Leeds United prospect Harry Gray is close to joining Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan, a move that would reunite him with ex-Leeds captain Liam Cooper.
yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports that a deal is near between the clubs and the 17-year-old is on board with the switch.
Gray’s first senior loan came last season at Rotherham United in League One. He made 20 appearances and scored three goals, but could not prevent relegation amid managerial change and injuries.
Leeds planned another loan for 2026/27 and chose League One again. Huddersfield Town were among the suitors before Wednesday emerged as the destination.
Wednesday begin a new era following a takeover despite their drop from the Championship to League One. Cooper has signed a new deal at Hillsborough after a short-term spell last season that brought 14 outings.
Gray is set to link up with Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training. The move is aimed at adding to his experience and contributing to what is expected to be a promotion bid.
