Leeds United avoided conceding a Brentford penalty after VAR deemed Dango Ouattara offside and overturned referee John Brooks' decision.
Leeds began brightly at the Gtech Community Stadium, Noah Okafor producing the first big save. Brentford responded and in the 35th minute Brooks awarded a spot-kick for a foul on Ouattara by Gabriel Gudmundsson. The Premier League Match Centre said the decision was later reversed for offside, resulting in an indirect free-kick.
Replays showed Ouattara marginally beyond the last line as the cross arrived. It was the final notable act of a subdued first half.
Early in the second half, Leeds appealed for a penalty when Dominic Calvert-Lewis went down while shielding the ball from Nathan Collins.
Brooks waved play on and a brief VAR check upheld the on-field call. A subsequent handball check was also dismissed.
Leeds arrived on the back of a draw with Liverpool and a win over Chelsea.
