Leeds United have submitted the first bid for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, 25, amid interest from several Premier League clubs. According to Telegraph, the Norway international is on the radar of multiple rivals.

There is no agreement, but talks have opened between the clubs in the final week of the January window. The sides are understood not to be far apart on valuation.

Wolves are relaxed about the situation and content if he stays. They are on a five-match unbeaten run and pleased with dressing-room harmony, despite relegation appearing inevitable.

Strand Larsen is valued at about £40m and competition means the fee could rise. He hit 14 league goals last season after initially joining from Celta Vigo on loan, and has seven in all competitions this term.

Crystal Palace have been firmly in the race and could pursue a No nine if Jean-Philippe Mateta leaves Selhurst Park. Nottingham Forest and West Ham are also among the admirers.

West Ham have since signed two forwards and are retaining Callum Wilson after his winner against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Forest are on the brink of signing Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli. Aston Villa are also seeking a No nine but have focused on Tammy Abraham from Roma.

Last summer, Wolves rejected bids of £50m and £55m from Newcastle United for Strand Larsen, after which he signed a new deal at Molineux.
