Daniel Farke says Leeds have no fresh injuries for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup visit to Nottingham Forest, with three still out and new signing Nico Elvedi in contention for a debut.

As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds began their second season back in the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Forest on Saturday and return to Nottingham for a second-round tie.

Farke confirmed Willy Gnonto and Gabi Gudmundsson remain sidelined with hamstring problems, along with Ilia Gruev. He added that post-match checks left the same group available, while anyone short on recovery would be assessed.

Gudmundsson was injured against Liverpool in America on August two and had initially faced around four weeks out. Gnonto suffered his issue in the Dublin friendly with Manchester United earlier this month, with Farke hopeful last week that he would rejoin team training soon. Both are not yet in training, with rehab progressing and a possible return to team work later this week.

Gruev, who sustained a meniscus injury late last season, has been partly reintegrated and returned to full training in recent days, but Farke said this match comes too soon and that the midfielder likely needs another couple of weeks, with no knee reaction.

Elvedi, a versatile 29-year-old Swiss international defender signed from Borussia Monchengladbach last week, is available. He was an unused substitute on Saturday and, having impressed in training and played most of Borussia Monchengladbach’s pre-season, could make his debut, with late calls to be made.
