Leeds United are assessing fitness issues before Sunday’s Premier League finale at Elland Road against Brighton. Their top-flight status is secure after West Ham’s defeat to Arsenal, with 36,000 set to welcome them.
A 1-1 draw at Tottenham came despite absentees, with Noah Okafor, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Ilia Gruev already expected to be out. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, there were surprise omissions and a fresh in-game injury.
Brighton are without Stefanos Tzimas, sidelined since early December with an ACL injury, and Adam Webster, who has not featured this season after a summer ACL. Webster is back on the grass, but a return in the final two matches looks unlikely.
Diego Gomez picked up a knee issue against Tottenham almost a month ago and head coach Fabian Hurzeler did not rule out a Wolves return last weekend. He will be assessed closer to Sunday, as will full-back Mats Wieffer after an ankle problem in the 3-1 defeat at Newcastle.
Kaoru Mitoma appeared to suffer a hamstring problem early in the second half at Wolves, with scans still to confirm the extent, so any muscular issue would rule him out. For Leeds, Gruev’s meniscus injury ended his season before last month’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, with a pre-season return planned. Leeds will aim to stretch their unbeaten Premier League run to eight games.
