Leeds United are among the clubs pursuing Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde, with Crystal Palace also keen as they look to replace Marc Guehi following his move to Manchester City.

According to Leeds Live, Oosterwolde, 24, is a prominent option at Selhurst Park but Palace have not entered direct talks with the club in Türkiye. Leeds have expressed interest and could face competition from Nottingham Forest and Roma.

The former Twente and Parma defender joined Fenerbahce in January 2023 and featured in the Europa League and Conference League. After an ACL rupture he returned to the side and signed a new deal last summer to 2028.

Comfortable at left-back or centre-back, he scored in the derby win over Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Cup final.

Leeds have made one January call, deciding to wait until the end of the season before any sale of Joe Gelhardt. The 23-year-old forward is on loan at promotion-chasing Hull City and has 10 goals in 19 appearances.

Despite that form, Leeds never planned to recall him to compete for a place under Daniel Farke. A mid-season return to facilitate a sale was only possible if the right proposal arrived.

Jaka Bijol’s injury could yet alter plans, with Farke cautious over the defender’s rehabilitation but resistant to panic this month. He said the next few days will be decisive, the recovery is estimated at three to five weeks and they would react if a late-January setback occurs. For now he is content, unless something unexpected happens.
