Leeds United supporters outside Elland Road showcased treasured retro shirts at the first home game of the season, and explained the memories stitched into them.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, fans spoke about choosing older kits for style, nostalgia and family ties.
Ben Legg, from York, wore the 93/94 away, saying it was slightly before his time but he likes the sponsor and the badge.
Pete Ramsey chose the 91/92 away for its style and because it brings back memories of 1992.
Darren Sims bought his shirt when it went on sale during lockdown, kept it sealed in his wardrobe for four or five years, and has only now decided to start wearing it.
William Jones turned up in the 08/09 home shirt, which he says is his dad’s and a bit different.
Graeme Lawson, from Stockport, wore the 92/93 home, saying he had the original 32 years ago and has been wearing it ever since.
Joel Misseldine brought out a 90/91 home, describing it as his dad’s old one from roughly 25-30 years ago.
