Leeds United received a triple boost on Saturday as Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Bournemouth were beaten, prompting a bookmakers' shift in the predicted final Premier League table and relegation prices ahead of Sunday’s trip to Sunderland.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, bookmakers have updated their predicted final table and relegation odds for Leeds after those setbacks for their rivals.
Daniel Farke’s side had gone into Christmas six points clear of the drop after a 4-1 defeat of Crystal Palace.
Forest, who slipped to 16th and trailed Leeds by a point, lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the City Ground in the lunchtime kick-off, remaining a point behind having played a game more.
Third-bottom West Ham were then beaten 1-0 by Fulham in the 3pm game.
Bournemouth’s slide continued with a 4-1 defeat at Brentford, completing the hat-trick of boosts.
A win at the Stadium of Light would take Leeds level on points with the 15th-placed Cherries, nine clear of the relegation zone and four ahead of Forest. Even a draw would leave them seven clear and two ahead of Forest.
The latest title odds show Arsenal at 3-4, in from 8-11, with Manchester City at 6-4. Aston Villa are 18-1, in from 28s, Liverpool 33-1, Chelsea 150-1, out from 66s, and Manchester United 500-1.
