Leeds are considering a January move for AC Milan forward Santiago Gimenez as Daniel Farke seeks another striker. He has relied on Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, both on four goals, with Nmecha currently injured.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Leeds’ interest is at an embryonic stage after Milan offered the Mexico international last week. Milan plan to move him on in January, he has seven goals in 30 matches since a £30m switch from Feyenoord in January 2025, and West Ham are also keen.

Even so, the player is understood to want to stay in Milan, as indicated by his father.

The financial terms are unclear, and an initial loan looks likeliest if anything materialises. PSR concerns could restrict what the 49ers can do in January.

Any progress remains uncertain and there is thought to be a long way to go.
