Leeds United head to Brentford in the Premier League this weekend with Daniel Farke confirming Lukas Nmecha will miss out. The striker remains symptomatic with a hamstring problem and is training individually.

According to Leeds Live, Farke hopes Nmecha can return against Crystal Palace. He said a busy week brought a few knocks but, aside from Nmecha, the rest of the squad should be available.

Farke outlined that switching between a back three and a back four was always part of this season’s plan to make the promoted side less predictable. He added he is not tied to one system, with emphasis on core principles.

He recognised Brentford’s strong home record and accepted Leeds will be underdogs. Even so, he suggested that a high-level display could bring points wherever they play.

Farke praised Ao Tanaka’s commitment, noting standout displays against Man City and Chelsea. He conceded the midfielder can be overmotivated at times, but said he values that edge.

He also expressed delight at bringing in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, describing him as among the best strikers in the league. The priority, he stressed, is for the forward to stay fit, keep his rhythm and maintain confidence.
