Leeds United’s injury picture has improved, although Noah Okafor remains sidelined and Gabriel Gudmundsson is being assessed before Manchester City.
According to Leeds Live, Pascal Struijk and Anton Stach returned from hip flexor problems to start the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. Stach scored a fine free-kick, taking his season total to four.
Daniel James was back after a back issue that kept him out of the FA Cup win at Birmingham City as a precaution. He has played only 20 minutes since his long-term hamstring lay-off and was unused at the weekend. Daniel Farke is expected to provide a further update on Thursday.
Okafor pulled up with a hamstring problem against Birmingham and was withdrawn shortly before full-time. Saturday was only the second Premier League game he has missed this season despite earlier muscle issues. The recovery outlook last week was two to four weeks, he was ruled out of Villa and Manchester City, with a best-case return on 3 March against Sunderland and a worst case beyond the international break.
Gudmundsson was taken off at half-time at Villa after feeling unwell, having looked below par in the first half that included an uncharacteristic back-pass for a corner. The Swede has started 25 of his 26 league matches and the hope is he has recovered in time for City this weekend, the reverse fixture was the only league game he was benched for. A possible return date is 28 February against Manchester City.
