Jaka Bijol’s hamstring setback could shape Leeds United’s January transfer plans, with Daniel Farke hit by fresh injuries on the eve of the Fulham match.
According to Leeds Live, rumours on Friday that Anton Stach and Bijol would miss out were confirmed when the pair were absent on arrival at Elland Road. Farke later said both had muscle problems, one more severe.
Stach sustained an adductor issue, costing him only his second absence of the season. Farke was hopeful it was minor and that he would be ready for Monday’s trip to Everton after a good break. Expected return date: January 26 vs Everton.
Bijol’s strain is more significant, sidelining the defender for at least three weeks and possibly up to five. The summer recruit had impressed in the new back-three system. Expected return date: February.
James is due back in training just before the month ends if the initial eight-week timeline holds. His hamstring injury, sustained at Manchester City on November 29, has kept him out since. Expected return date: early February.
