Leeds and Ipswich are looking to add Willem Geubbels to their respective attacking departments.
Union Berlin are preparing a seven-figure bid for the services of St. Gallen forward, Willem Geubbels amid interest from Leeds United and Ipswich Town.
The Whites and Tractor Boys will be swapping places in the EFL and Premier League when the 2024/25 season officially comes to an end, with Daniel Farke's men securing their second Championship title within five years on the final day of the season.
Whilst the East Anglian side are heading straight back into the second-tier alongside Leicester City and Southampton after just one campaign back among the elite of English football.
Both clubs have been the subject of vast transfer speculation when it comes to their respective forward departments, with Leeds linked with an array of potential striking options to boost an attack which netted 95 times in 46 games, whereas Kieran McKenna's men are braced to lose the services of top scorer Liam Delap, who is said to prefer a potential move to Manchester United after gaining plenty of admirers.
The upcoming transfer window is set to initially open between Sunday, 1 June -10 June before re-opening six days later for the remainder of the summer.
However, the aforementioned duo of sides are set to be facing European competition in their pursuit of the former AS Monaco striker.
After plenty of interest from Union Berlin in January as well as Leeds, the side who look destined to end the Bundesliga season in 13th, are understood to be preparing a €6m/approx £5m bid for the Frenchman, according to Berliner Kurier, whilst United and Ipswich are also keen on striking a deal.
Leeds had previously been linked with a loan swoop for Geubbels in January alongside divisional rivals, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion, before theirs and the Canaries' interest was played down by local publications.
Leeds' eventual dominance in attack was the key difference in them securing the second-tier title over Burnley, with main striker Joel Piroe hitting 19 goals in 46 games, taking his overall tally in the division for the Whites and Swansea City to 73 goals in 179 outings.
However, it was recently reported by Football Insider that the Dutchman will not be the focal point in attack for the West Yorkshire side after promotion, with links to the likes of Daizen Maeda, Jamie Vardy and Everton top scorer, Beto, all surfacing afterwards.
Although a move to England never materialised in the winter, Geubbels has netted 16 goals in 39 games across all competitions for the Swiss Pro League side this term - per FotMob.
Despite being just 23 years of age, Geubbels has always been highly-rated across Europe since becoming the first player to feature in Ligue 1 that was born in the 21st century back in 2017 after breaking through Lyon's academy setup.
Monaco signed the former French youth international in the summer of 2018 in a reported €20m switch, and has also spent time on loan with Nantes.
His pace and versatility makes him a real threat either out wide or through the middle, with the wing department potentially another area which Leeds and Ipswich are looking into amid recent reports that Manor Solomon is favouring a move to Marseille, whilst Omari Hutchinson has a reported £35m release clause at Portman Road.
As well as becoming more well-rounded, Geubbels' goal and assist return for St. Gallen is also respectable after joining in January 2023, accruing a combined figure of 34 goal contributions in two-and-a-half years, over half of which have come since August (as of 15/05/25).
