Leeds United face Sunderland in the US tomorrow night as transfer work intensifies, with a club-record £40m move for James Trafford progressing to become the third summer addition.

Daily Mail reports that former Leeds loanee Manor Solomon is keen to leave Tottenham Hotspur permanently this summer, with recently relegated West Ham United interested.

Solomon joined on loan in summer 2024 after Crysencio Summerville’s £28m switch to the Hammers, delivering 10 goals and 13 assists, including an added-time winner at Plymouth Argyle that sealed the Championship title on the final day.

He has featured in all three pre-season games under Roberto De Zerbi but wants a settled home, and Spurs are expected to sanction a sale to recoup funds after an expensive summer.

Ipswich Town have signed Royale Union Saint-Gilloise goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen on a four-year deal worth around £11m. At 6ft 9ins he will be the tallest player in Premier League history, after keeping 21 clean sheets in 43 appearances last season.

Jordan Henderson has left Brentford by mutual consent amid surprise interest from Chelsea, with new head coach Xabi Alonso seeking Premier League experience.
