Leeds United name USA tour squad as four miss out, Noah Okafor given extra rest | OneFootball

Leeds United have named their travelling squad for a pre-season tour of the United States, with four notable omissions. Daniel Farke’s side will face Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool.

The club said in a statement that Noah Okafor has been granted an extended break after Switzerland reached the World Cup quarter-finals, which is why he is not included. Leeds will be based at Red Bull’s new training facility in Morristown, New Jersey.

Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt, Max Wober and Jack Harrison are also absent from the list. Ramazani spent last season on loan at Valencia, Gelhardt helped Hull City earn promotion to the Premier League, Wober’s campaign at Werder Bremen was disrupted by injuries, and Harrison joined Fiorentina on loan in January.

The squad will fly to Tampa for Wrexham and to Chicago for Liverpool, with Sunderland also on the itinerary.

The touring party blends senior players with Under-21 prospects, and others are set to link up later after World Cup duty. Pre-season shirt numbers may change once the Premier League begins.
