Leeds United have paid tribute to Kevin Keegan after the former England captain and manager died aged 75.
Keegan revealed in June that he had stage four cancer. His family said on Monday afternoon that he had passed away, adding he was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments.
Tributes poured in from across the globe for the former Newcastle United, Liverpool and Southampton forward. Leeds marked the news with a club statement.
The club said they were deeply saddened by Keegan’s passing and sent their thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.
His family described him as a double Ballon d’Or winner and a much loved husband, father and grandfather. They thanked his medical team for their support and requested space and privacy at this difficult time.
