Leeds United could restore Gudmundsson, with Lucas Perri likely in goal, as Daniel Farke weighs up a strong line-up for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 4.30pm kick-off at the London Stadium is Leeds’ first outing after a two-week international break that saw a dozen players on senior duty.
Leeds signed off before the pause with a goalless home draw against Brentford on Saturday, March 21, when the suspended Gabriel Gudmundsson was replaced by Jayden Bogle.
Gudmundsson is back from his one-game ban and, having helped Sweden book their place at this summer’s World Cup, is fancied to return at left wing back. Alternatives include James Justin, Willy Gnonto, Dan James or Sam Byram.
In goal, penalty shoot-out hero Perri has played the fourth and fifth rounds after Karl Darlow began the run at Derby, so he seems likely to continue. A back three would probably feature ever-present Jaka Bijol, with Justin and Pascal Struijk edging the final spots. Joe Rodon has yet to start in this competition and Sebastiaan Bornauw, withdrawn at half-time against Norwich, might miss out.
Bogle could keep the right wing back role, with Justin considered more useful inside. Gnonto or James have operated as wing backs in earlier rounds, but Bogle looks the natural pick for a tie of this size.
