Leeds United are expected to field a line-up close to their opening-day selection against Augsburg, with James Trafford in line for an unofficial Elland Road debut after his Dublin bow.
Trafford joined on Tuesday then played against Manchester United on Wednesday in Dublin. According to Leeds Live, United plan to hand out several competitive debuts at Nottingham Forest and want all three to have featured at Elland Road beforehand.
Tarik Muharemovic is likely to start in front of Trafford, alongside Jaka Bijol, with Joe Rodon on the right of the defence. Jayden Bogle and James Justin are set to operate on the flanks, Justin covering for Gabriel Gudmundsson, who is expected to miss Forest and possibly the first home match against Brentford.
Ethan Ampadu should anchor midfield with Sean Longstaff, whose pre-season form has been promising. Harry Wilson is tipped to start on the right of the two advanced roles behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
With Noah Okafor unlikely to be ready for Augsburg or the opener, the left-sided 10 spot is between Anton Stach, Daniel James and Brenden Aaronson. Farke’s away-game pattern suggests Aaronson could get the nod, and he has scored twice in pre-season. James has been lively without end product, while Stach is still building fitness after a May injury.
Sebastiaan Bornauw played 90 minutes in Dublin but looks set for Hamburg, with Nico Elvedi lined up as cover. Any Bornauw omission could be telling.
Predicted XI vs Augsburg: Trafford, Bogle, Rodon, Bijol, Muharemovic, Justin, Longstaff, Ampadu, Wilson, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin.
