Leeds United host Sunderland at Elland Road tonight in the Premier League, with a chance to stretch their cushion above the drop zone. They lost 1-0 to Manchester City last time out, but the gap to 18th-placed West Ham remains six points.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke used his Monday press conference to play down fears of a serious hamstring issue for Joe Rodon, and he also expects James Justin to be fine after a nasty ankle cut. The only confirmed absentee tonight is Noah Okafor.
With a near full squad, Farke faces several selection calls. Karl Darlow impressed last time out with sharp saves and calm distribution, so the Welshman looks set to keep his place, with Lucas Perri among the substitutes.
At the back, Justin should again operate in the right centre-back or right-back hybrid role. Rodon’s issue was described as minor on Monday and he should be available, while Pascal Struijk settled quickly on his return and was excellent. The Dutchman also struck twice off the bench in this fixture last season.
On the flank, Jayden Bogle will hope to impose more attacking threat after a taxing duel with Rayan Cherki. Another who recalls last season’s 2-1 comeback, he could offer extra thrust down the right against Sunderland under the Elland Road lights.
