Leeds United moved to the brink of Premier League safety with a 3-1 win over Championship-bound Burnley, Anton Stach starring. Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were also on target on Friday evening.

Leeds Live’s player ratings identified Stach as the standout performer and underlined the importance of the result.

Stach, on his first start in almost a month, opened the scoring with a thumping long-range drive that clipped the post. Burnley pushed forward at times, but a second Leeds goal always looked decisive.

Seven minutes after the restart, Okafor expertly guided Jayden Bogle’s cross into the far corner, his fourth Premier League goal in as many games. Calvert-Lewin then poked in after Ao Tanaka’s shot was spilled by Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, his first open-play goal since 6 February.

Karl Darlow had earlier denied Bashir Humphreys before Lucas Pires turned in, the flag, then VAR, ruled it out for offside. Loum Tchaouna pulled one back on 71 minutes for a consolation.

In the ratings, Stach scored 9. Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol, Pascal Strujik, James Justin, Ethan Ampadu, Okafor and Calvert-Lewin received 8, with Darlow, Bogle and Tanaka on 7. Sean Longstaff and Lukas Nmecha were given 6, Brenden Aaronson 7, while late substitutes Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto were not rated.

Manager Daniel Farke earned 8, his attacking selection delivering three goals before any changes as Leeds closed out a vital victory.
