Leeds United have rejected an approach for summer signing Lucas Perri.

According to yorkshireevenpost.co.uk, Beşiktaş, from Türkiye, made the move for the goalkeeper.

Perri was recruited to start under Daniel Farke but a niggling issue from the outset, then another knock after the season began, disrupted his start. Ultimately his form cost him the shirt after Farke criticised how he conceded against Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Farke questioned his decision making for Manchester United's equaliser in an Elland Road draw, then felt Harvey Barnes' winner days later was one his goalkeeper should stop.

Karl Darlow, who covered during Perri's brief absence, returned for the Derby County FA Cup tie and has kept the gloves since. Farke said he wanted to remove Perri from the spotlight to rebuild confidence in training.

Leeds have not looked to move Perri on in January. Illan Meslier, who also lost his place to Darlow for last season's run-in, has not attracted interest this window and looks set to remain third choice.
