Leeds United are not expected to add on January deadline day, as things stand, though they remain alert to late movement before the seven pm cut-off.

According to Leeds Live, the window is set to close with only one addition, Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte. Jorgen Strand Larsen is heading to Crystal Palace and Leeds have no obvious fallback.

A Wolves attacker had been viewed as a long-term opportunity, with a £40 million offer to come from next season’s budget. Leeds have limited headroom under profit and sustainability rules, so loans were always likelier.

Any late move for a goalkeeper has been dismissed, despite Daniel Farke hinting at his transfer stance after Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal. The squad already includes four goalkeepers, among them £16m summer signing Lucas Perri.

Leeds lack a left-footed back-up left-back after Jack Harrison’s loan to Fiorentina, and the chances of recruiting in that area are fading as the deadline nears.

A fee for Strand Larsen would have been amortised across his contract, and the initial outlay would still need offsetting before 30 June. Joel Piroe, touted by onlookers as a potential makeweight, wants to stay and compete despite enquiries. Farke said last week that, as of Thursday, no player had asked to leave.
