Leeds United have settled on the next step for 17-year-old Harry Gray, approving an early loan so he can bed in during pre-season.
According to Leeds Live, another Yorkshire move was guaranteed, and Sheffield Wednesday now appear to have won that race ahead of Huddersfield Town.
Gray spent the second half of last season on loan at Rotherham United, playing 20 times and scoring three in a side battling in the lower reaches of League One. Another loan was always planned, though the timing had been unclear. He is the younger brother of Tottenham Hotspur's Archie Gray.
Daniel Farke was understood to be keen to assess him with the seniors again after taking him to Germany last summer, where he impressed and edged into early matchday squads. There was also a chance he could head to the USA with the squad this summer.
Wednesday have new owners and fresh ambition after the end of the Dejphon Chansiri era, with Gray set for an opportunity at Hillsborough alongside ex-Leeds captain and promotion winner Liam Cooper.
Cooper left Elland Road for CSKA Sofia two years ago, stayed a year, then moved to Wednesday in League One.
His presence is a big plus, with the experienced defender likely to take the teenager under his wing. Gray will hope to help the Owls push towards the top end of League One after last season's relegation fight.
