Leeds United have removed the derelict changing rooms in Fullerton car park that carried a mural honouring Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, with the families’ support, as redevelopment at Elland Road progresses. The club issued a monthly update to supporters on the works.
The club said in a statement that work began last month with demolition of the West Stand Banqueting Suite, followed by the building that housed the ticket office and LUTV studio. That clearance allows a reduced level dig to reach the formation level for construction.
Piling will run over the coming months as they start a new corridor so the existing West Stand can operate at full capacity for the 2026/27 campaign while a new structure is built over it.
The corridor will be split into three, with separate routes for hospitality guests, general admission home fans and away supporters.
A new hospitality facility behind the North Stand is ready for fit out ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season, to accommodate relocated West Stand hospitality customers.
The broadcast compound has been moved from Fullerton car park to a site across the road from the North Stand. Planning permission for a new West Stand was granted earlier in the year, and a proposed second phase for a new North Stand would take capacity to around 53,000 when complete.
