Bookmakers have adjusted their predicted final Premier League table, shifting Leeds United’s projected finish after significant results for their relegation rivals.

Leeds moved nine points clear of the drop with Friday night’s 3-1 home win over Burnley. That left them nine clear of third-bottom Tottenham, seven ahead of West Ham and four in front of Nottingham Forest, with all three holding a game in hand. yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports that these swings have prompted a change in the new projection.

West Ham then lost 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday, leaving them seven points behind Leeds with just three matches remaining. Defeat for the Hammers at home to Arsenal on Sunday would make Leeds mathematically safe. Given West Ham’s goal difference, even a draw would realistically be enough to secure top flight status.

There was another lift as Crystal Palace were beaten at Bournemouth, the Eagles dropping below Leeds on goal difference. Spurs responded with a 2-1 win at Aston Villa to climb out of the bottom three. Forest followed up with a 3-1 success at Chelsea to sit one point behind Leeds.

Tottenham are now one point ahead of West Ham and six behind Leeds, and they host the Whites on Monday night.
