Leeds United Star Is Fit, Could Undergo Exit Medical | OneFootball

Leeds United shot-stopper Lucas Perri is fully fit and has no current injury concerns, leaving him free to undergo a medical at any time as Marseille and Torino battle for his signature.

The Brazilian shot-stopper arrived at Elland Road last summer for a fee believed to be around €15m, with the expectation that he would establish himself as their first-choice goalkeeper.

His season, however, failed to unfold as planned, with Perri slipping down the pecking order under Daniel Farke and growing frustrated by his lack of minutes, leaving the door open to an exit this summer.

The departures of both goalkeepers on Leeds’ books, Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier, appeared to hand Perri a route back into the number one spot, but the arrival of James Trafford from Manchester City quickly slammed that door shut.

Torino remain in the running, having already agreed a season-long loan deal with the Whites, including an option to buy, and are now waiting to put the Brazilian through his medical.

That process was held up by a minor finger injury Perri had been carrying, giving Marseille the opportunity to swoop for the 28-year-old, with the French side now said to have ‘ramped up’ their contacts.

Les Olympiens, unlike Torino, have Europa League football on offer alongside domestic competitions.

According to Italian outlet Toro Goal (via Cuore Toro), the Leeds United star is no longer injured and is fit to undergo a medical at any time, should the Brazilian give the green light.

Perri is carefully weighing up his options, and it remains unclear whether he currently favours one club over the other, despite Torino hoping he will honour his word after previously giving them his agreement.

Should the Brazilian shot-stopper opt for Marseille, Il Toro could turn their attention back towards Nottingham Forest’s John Victor, who has already been identified as an alternative.

Perri’s departure from Elland Road would likely force Leeds back into the market for another goalkeeper, with Alex Cairns currently the only remaining option to provide cover for Trafford.

It remains unclear who the Peacocks might target, with the club now faced with a choice between bringing in an experienced option or taking a chance on an up-and-coming shot-stopper.
