Leeds United return to Elland Road on Sunday looking to sign off their home campaign with top-flight safety assured.
The Whites have little at stake after West Ham’s recent defeat to Arsenal confirmed their top-flight status. Daniel Farke has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, guiding his side to 44 points so far.
That said, the hosts face a difficult tactical challenge against a clinical away side. Leeds are winless in all seven of their Premier League meetings against the Seagulls. They must defy recent history to secure a third consecutive home win at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke confirmed that Ethan Ampadu is a major doubt due to a sudden illness. Losing his presence in central midfield could prove significant for the home side’s defensive structure.
If he misses out, Anton Stach and Ao Tanaka will likely partner Sean Longstaff. Pascal Struijk also remains a big doubt after missing training with a nagging hip injury.
Meanwhile, Noah Okafor, Ilia Gruev, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Jayden Bogle are definitely out. Facundo Buonanotte is ineligible to feature against his parent club under loan regulations.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the attack, searching for his fourteenth league goal this term. Wilfried Gnonto and James Justin will provide width to support strike partner Lukas Nmecha.
Leeds predicted XI: Darlow; Rodon, Bijol, Bornauw; Gnonto, Stach, Longstaff, Tanaka, Justin; Calvert-Lewin, Nmecha.
The Premier League match at Elland Road kicks off at 15:00 BST on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
