Leeds United will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they welcome Newcastle United to Elland Road for Saturday’s evening fixture.
The Whites have had a testing week, with a heavy league defeat at Arsenal followed by a disappointing Carabao Cup exit to Sheffield Wednesday, and manager Daniel Farke will be demanding a response in front of a home crowd.
Daniel Farke is grappling with a midfield injury crisis. Captain Ethan Ampadu and fellow midfielder Ao Tanaka have both been ruled out with knee injuries, forcing a reshuffle in the engine room. This could mean a home debut for new signing Sean Longstaff against his former club.
The manager’s defensive options have been boosted by the return of Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw, with Bijol expected to feature.
Up front, Lukas Nmecha, who scored the winner against Everton on his debut, is expected to lead the line. He faces fresh competition from new signings Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Leeds United predicted XI: Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Longstaff, Stach; James, Piroe, Gnonto; Nmecha.
The Premier League fixture takes place at Elland Road on Saturday, 30th August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 5:30 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Coverage begins at 5pm BST.
